Warner Bros. has now stated that there will not be a short Harry Potter movie filmed for the upcoming theme park, The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter.
The story comes through SnitchSeeker.com, who obtained confirmation from a company spokesman that there is indeed no truth to the rumours. “Contrary to recent press reports, [JK Rowling] has not written scripts for any films based on the Harry Potter ‘prequel’ (recently written and sold for charity) or otherwise, as part of the theme park or any other purpose.”
Universal Orlando announced that they would be building a theme park based around the fictitious would of Hogwarts, described in the Harry Potter series of novels by JK Rowling, on 31 May 2007. The park is expected to be complete by December 2009. Rowling sold the handwritten mini-prequel upon which the film was reportedly to be based for £25,000 at auction on 10 June 2008, with the money going to the English PEN and Dyslexia Action charities.
