Helen and Will are flying a helicopter across the sea only to be attacked by a giant tentacle. In a flashback Helen tells Will that they need to hunt down a vampire squid off in the Gulf of Mexico. Back in the present day and both Will and Helen have crashed onto an oil rig. They soon find themselves falling back into the water; narrowly avoiding the squid they climb ashore and recapture it. Back on the rig the pair try to repair communications but are set upon by a great big scorpion creature. Realising that both the squid and the scorpion deem the rig to be their territory, Helen and Will witness both creatures engaging in battle. As the helicopter hangs perilously close to the water, Will finds himself stuck in the clutches of the scorpion. Helen quickly blows up the helicopter to save him and get away from these beasts.
