In Chinatown a man meets up with a doctor named Ming Che. With the man complaining of pains, Ming Che checks him over only to find something crawling beneath his skin. Following this Walter and Peter investigate a Chinese merchant ship, and onboard they find passengers who have died as the result of parasites bursting from within their bodies. Upon further investigation it turns out that these parasitic worms secrete opium. Walter is bitten by one of the worms but maintains he is fine. Walter soon finds Ming Che and does some probing. Shortly after he is kidnapped by the Triads but subsequently released. Peter heads straight to Ming Che’s address but finds himself strapped down with a worm forced into his mouth. Olivia and the team arrive just in time; despite going for his gun Olivia manages to beat Ming Che to the trigger and kills him. As events come to a close, Walter admits to Peter that total independence isn’t something he wants.
