Avengers Infinity War eyes up Game Of Thrones star for key role

One of the best things about Game Of Thrones could be joining Avengers Infinity War

As if the two Avengers: Infinity War films weren’t packed with stars as it is, it looks like Marvel/Disney still aren’t quite satisfied yet, as apparently they are looking at none other than Peter Dinklage for a key role in the third (and fourth) Avengers movies.

According to a report on Variety, the Game Of Thrones and X-Men: Days Of Future Past star is “in early talks for a key role”, although Marvel hasn’t commented yet.

While it’s unknown who he will be playing, since much of these movies are likely to take place in space (what with the presence of Thanos as the main villain), and considering the gravitas that Dinklage possesses, we’re going to hazard a guess at him being one of Marvel’s all-powerful beings, perhaps the Beyonder or the Watcher.

Peter Dinklage is reportedly in talks for a role in Avengers: Infinity War.

Either way, it’ll be a great casting coup if it comes off. He has consistently been the best thing about Game Of Thrones as Tyrion Lannister, and was perfectly fine as Bolivar Trask in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. We’re expecting bigger things from the two Infinity War films, but if they keep looking at people like Dinklage then they’re onto a winner.

If confirmed then he will join a cast that already includes the likes of Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Paul Bettany, Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Wong and Chadwick Boseman, with Anthony and Joe Russo directing from a script penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley.

Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 will be released in cinemas on 27 April 2018, and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 will be released on 26 April 2019. For all the latest movie news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
