XX trailer for all-female horror anthology looks deeply creepy

Check out the awesome first trailer for horror anthology XX

We’ve been following the upcoming all-female directed horror anthology XX for a while now and the trailer has finally arrived ahead of the film’s debut at Sundance later this month.

XX is a new all-female helmed horror anthology featuring four dark tales written and directed by fiercely talented women: Annie Clark (St. Vincent) rocks her directorial debut with THE BIRTHDAY PARTY; Karyn Kusama (THE INVITATION, GIRLFIGHT) exorcises HER ONLY LIVING SON; Roxanne Benjamin (SOUTHBOUND) screams DON’T FALL; and Jovanka Vuckovic (THE CAPTURED BIRD) dares to open THE BOX. Award-winning animator Sofia Carrillo (LA CASA TRISTE) wraps together four suspenseful stories of terror featuring a cast including Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool and Christina Kirk.”

The assembled talent here is pretty fantastic. We’re big fans of Southbound and can’t wait to see more from Roxanne Benjamin, Karyn Kusama’s The Invitation and Jennifer’s Body are absolutely fantastic, and Vuckovic’s The Captured Bird short is wonderful. As for Annie Clark, we are very, very excited to see what she’s like as a filmmaker, and she’s already shown that she’s got good instincts by casting the brilliant Melanie Lynskey, so that’s great.
XX will premiere at Sundance Film Festival on 22 January and will hit VOD in the US on 17 February. No UK release date has been announced. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
