With The Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeist already filming, production is gearing up for the sequel to the first film’s spin-off: haunted doll horror Annabelle.
The Tracking Board reports that Annabelle 2 will bring back original writer Gary Dauberman for the second movie about the Warrens’ most feared possession, but that director John R Leonetti probably won’t return. The Conjuring director James Wan is back as producer.
Annabelle made more than $240 million worldwide on a budget of $6.5 million, so a sequel was always a given. Fingers crossed that the sequel provides us with more scares and/or fun than its predecessor, which got off to a decent start, but…we can’t really remember anything about it after that.
