The First Omen: Unsettling teaser trailer for Antichrist origin horror

Starring Servant’s Nell Tiger Free and Bill Nighy as a creepy priest, check out the teaser trailer for Antichrist origin story, The First Omen.

Who can forget the iconic imagery of Damien the Antichrist in Richard Donner’s 1976 classic The Omen? Well, almost 50 years (and a bunch of sequels) later it looks like we’ll be getting more of the little terror’s story in upcoming movie The First Omen, which is a prequel that will explore the origins of the Antichrist himself.

Check out the teaser trailer here…

The official synopsis for the movie states: “When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.”

Directed by Arkasha Stevenson (in her feature debut, though she has directed episodes of Legion and Channel Zero), the movie is based on characters created by David Seltzer (The Omen), with a story by Ben Jacoby (Bleed) and a screenplay by Tim Smith & Arkasha Stevenson and Keith Thomas (Firestarter).

It stars Nell Tiger Free (Servant), Tawkeef Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Ralph Ineson (The Northman), and Bill Nighy (Living).

The movie also has some impressive producers behind it, including David S. Goyer (Foundation, Hellraiser) and Keith Levine (The Night House).

With 2023 bringing up a slew of additions to established franchises, some successful (Saw X) and some not so (The Exorcist: Believer), will we be seeing more of the same this year? Keep it here to find out!

The First Omen will be released in cinemas on 5 April.
