Unconfirmed reports from Sci-Fi Wire and Forces Of Geek have suggested, rather strongly, that Fox is looking to recast the voice actors for its returning hit show, Futurama.

One of Ronald D Moore’s two science fiction projects this year, Virtuality, failed to garner any significant viewing figures on its airing last Friday in the United States, further reducing its chances for a green light to series.

Michael Taylor, one of the creator and executive producers of Virtuality recently spoke to io9, in an interview where he cast doubt over the property’s prospects for going to series, and cleared up a few lingering questions that have hovered over its troubled production.

Fox has released the first real look at the characters of its on-again, off-again science fiction series Virtuality. The series, created by Battlestar Galactica reboot-er Ronald D Moore, focuses on a ship sent to another world that will take years to reach its destination. To amuse themselves, the crew have a virtual reality simulator aboard where they can while away the long months in relative comfort, however something sinister is lurking within the system, and the proviso that the crew must take part in a reality television show as a part of their voyage conditions means that they can’t escape whatever it is that’s stalking them.

20th Century Fox, the network that airs Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, has reportedly come down hard on a fansite that it accuses of “doing a great disservice to the show,” with the director of publicity personally sending an e-mail to its webmaster.

Fox as announced that it will pick up the pilot for Past Life, with the property going to series for release in the autumn. The CW has also announced that it will be commissioning a series for Vampire Diaries.

Dollhouse, the freshman series from Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator, will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD on 28 July in the United States, including the unaired episode Epitaph One.
