Fox has released the first real look at the characters of its on-again, off-again science fiction series Virtuality. The series, created by Battlestar Galactica reboot-er Ronald D Moore, focuses on a ship sent to another world that will take years to reach its destination. To amuse themselves, the crew have a virtual reality simulator aboard where they can while away the long months in relative comfort, however something sinister is lurking within the system, and the proviso that the crew must take part in a reality television show as a part of their voyage conditions means that they can’t escape whatever it is that’s stalking them.

Virtuality stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Clea DuVall, Richie Coster, Sienna Guillory and Omar Metwally among others. The pilot for the series, directed by Peter Berg, will air on 26 June. No official green light has been given for the show to go to series yet, however unsubstantiated blog posts from members of the crew have indicated that Fox is at least gearing up for a possible production.
