In a recent interview with SciFi Squad, Sigourney Weaver disclosed some interesting comments regarding her participation (or not) in Ghostbusters III.
When asked what state she thought Dana Barrett and Peter Venkman’s relationship would be in, some 25 years after the first movie, Weaver simply said: “Probably nonexistent.” Following this, she went into more depth:
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure. I think they’re still writing it, but I’d be very surprised… You never know,” she said. “I just did a benefit with Bill [Murray], and we love working together, but I think they’re trying to create something new completely with the Ghostbusters, although I know Bill is in it.” She said before going on to make a plot suggestion: “I hope my little son Oscar [from Ghostbusters II] is a Ghostbuster!”
Weaver ended the Ghostbusters chat by confirming that she will not be featuring in the movie: “No, I don’t expect to have anything to do with it, although I wish them well.”
Ghostbusters III is currently in pre-production and is yet to receive a release date.
