Following the substantial rumours that Marvel is close to a deal that would put Jon Favreau back in the director’s chair for the sequel to this year’s Iron Man, Variety is reporting that Justin Theroux is signed on to write the screenplay for the film.
Theroux is known for his work as both a writer and an actor, having made appearances in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and Six Feet Under, as well as penning the upcoming comedy film Tropic Thunder, which also stars Robert Downey Jr.
Marvel had no comment on the rumours, and a release date for Iron Man 2 is still forthcoming.
