The remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria is back on with A Bigger Splash director

Suspiria

SuspiriaA remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria has been on the horizon for what feels like forever. It even got close to being made with David Gordon Green directing Isabelle Huppert, Isabelle Furhman, Janet McTeer, Michael Nyqvist and Antje Traue. Then it all fell apart.

But now it’s back on.

Variety reports that I Am Love and A Bigger Splash director Luca Guadagnino declared that he would be making the reimagining.

“I’m going to direct a remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria,” he said. “I’m going to shoot the movie this winter. I think my friends at StudioCanal will be part of it.”

Guadagnino is an interesting choice. He’s not got much by way of horror on his CV but he certainly knows how to make a beautiful sensory experience. I Am Love is a fantastic film and word on A Bigger Splash out of Venice is brilliant.

In the meantime, you can always just watch the original masterpiece again…

You can buy Suspiria on Blu-ray for £18.27 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest horror news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
