After the brief glimpse we got recently, we’ve now had our first proper look at Tyler Hoechlin as Superman in Season 2 of Supergirl – and we have to say, we like what we see.
Previous interviews had suggested that he would be more in the Christopher Reeve mould than anything we’ve seen recently, and this preview seems to concern that, as evidenced by Clark’s opening phone conversation with Perry White – all politeness and deferments to his boss. All this changes when someone’s in trouble, however, and out emerges the big blue boy scout to lend his cousin a hand.
He’s a very CW Superman, and we mean that in the best possible sense. Judging by this latest glimpse of what’s ahead in Season 2 of Supergirl, the network would seem to be in danger of getting the Man of Steel right. Let us hope this is indeed the case.
Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood and Calista Flockhart will all reprise their roles from Season 1, and will be joined by newcomers Tyler Hoechlin, Lynda Carter and Katie McGrath.
Supergirl: Season 2 will air on The CW in the US from 10 October 2016, and in the UK on Sky1 from 24 October. You can download The 25 Greatest DC Comics Ever digital edition from GreatDigitalMags.com now. For all the latest TV news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
