Star Wars: Episode VII cast revealed, it’s official

It’s not yet May the 4th, but Star Wars Day has come early with Disney confirming the first 10 cast members for JJ Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII.

Returning from the Original Trilogy are Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).

New cast members include Planet Of The Apes and The Hobbit‘s Andy Serkis, screen legend Max von Sydow, Attack The Block‘s John Boyega, newcomer Daisy Ridley, Dredd‘s Domhnall Gleeson, Inside Llewyn Davis‘ Oscar Isaac and Girls‘ Adam Driver.

Director JJ Abrams commented, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again.

“We start shooting in a couple of weeks,” concluded Abrams, “and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
