Star Wars Battlefront: Scarif trailer gives us a glimpse at Rogue One

The latest Star Wars Battlefront expansion is Rogue One-inspired

It was kind of inevitable, but exciting nonetheless: continuing in the vein of releasing downloadable extra levels (following Jakku last year and Bespin earlier in this one), Star Wars: Battlefront is released another DLC level taking place on the planet Scarif, as seen in the trailers for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Pitching you straight into the action, you can play as a Rebel attempting to evade formidable-looking AT-AT walkers, or as an Imperial trying to defend the planets. Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) are both available to play as god-mode characters (in the absence of any Jedi personnel), and it it looks like you’ll have the option to play as a Death Trooper too, as well as undergoing a space mission to destroy the planetary shield generator protecting the base.

This trailer seems to give away a few aspects of the film’s plot (watch it yourself to discover exactly what these are), but there’s nothing too spoiler-ific. Whether this will match up to classic Star Wars skirmishes like Hoth and Endor remains to be, seen, but first signs are promising. It looks like carnage in the best possible way, and we absolutely can’t wait to play it.

Anyways, you can read the synopsis below:

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Rogue One: Scarif has new and exciting content inspired by Rogue One™: A Star Wars™ Story.

Battle across four new maps on the tropical planet of Scarif. Play as two new heroes Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic, and blast opponents in a brand new multi-stage game mode with new weapons and Star Cards.
