A new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has arrived and, fair warning, it might give away a bit more of the plot than you’d like, particularly when it comes to the relationship between Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr). Here it is…
So, great power still comes with great responsibility, but we are definitely liking that mentor role Iron Man is fitting into. The chemistry between Downey Jr and Holland looks like it will be one of the highlights, along with Michael Keaton’s Vulture.
Yes indeed, there’s a little bit more of Keaton here, and every moment is precious. The line about protecting his family is interesting, and he’s clearly bringing real threat to the character. Marvel movie villains have been a consistent weak link, even when the actors are great, so we’ve got our fingers crossed that Spider-Man: Homecoming makes the most of the Vulture.
There’s also a bit more of Jacob Batalon as Peter’s best buddy Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and a quick glimpse of Bokeem Woodbine as Shocker.
It’s a strong trailer with a very promising tone…we just would have liked a little less plot. But that’s us.
