Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark new trailer goes for the big scares

The first full-length trailer for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark will give you the willies

The first full-length trailer for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark has arrived, and it’s pretty terrifying. If the trailer is anything to go by, the film (which is based on the children’s book series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz) ought to leave a lot of people spooked…

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

From the dark imaginations of Academy Award®-winner Guillermo del Toro and acclaimed director André Øvredal, based on the iconic book series, comes Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark — in theatres this summer.

It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is directed by André Øvredal from a screenplay by Dan Hageman, Kevin Hageman and John August, based on a story by Guillermo del Toro, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. Guillermo del Toro, Sean Daniel, Jason F. Brown, J. Miles Dale and Elizabeth Grave all serve as producers.

The film stars Zoe Colletti as Stella Nicholls, Michael Garza as Ramón Morales, Austin Abrams as Tommy Milner, Gabriel Rush as Auggie Hilderbrandt, Austin Zajur as Chuck Steinberg, Natalie Ganzhorn as Ruth, Dean Norris as Roy Nicholls, Gil Bellows as Police Chief Turner, Lorraine Toussaint as Lou Lou and Javier Botet as The Toe Monster.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is in cinemas from 23 August 2019. Get all the latest horror news with every issue of SciFiNow.
