As we edge closer to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, plenty of interesting news nuggets are being dropped about the first Star Wars anthology movie, the most recent of which being the debut of C2-B5, an all-black version of R2-D2.
An Imperial droid, this unit – unlike his far more heroic Rebellion-assisting counterpart – is on the side of the dark, so don’t expect a sunny disposition on him. The below episode of The Star Wars Show goes into a bit more detail, with it being pointed out that since Imperial astromech droids are frequently subject to memory wipes, you can expect a very different R2 unit.
