Enough talk: we finally have some word on what to expect from the upcoming sequel/remake/reboot/reimagining (delete as appropriate) of Jumanji.
Fittingly, this has come from the film’s main star, Dwayne Johnson, who posted the below concept art and message from his Instagram account:
EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK: Concept art of my #JUMANJI character. "The Smoldering" Dr. Bravestone. (not sure where my pecs went;). This is gonna be fun.. Me, @kevinhart4real, Jack Black, @NickJonas and the Ginger Assassin @karengillanofficial can't wait to "play the game that plays you". #JUMANJI #DrBravestone #KingOfTheSmolder #TheAdventureContinues ? * JUMANJI Costume Designer Laura Jean Shannon
Dr Bravestone, eh? We approve. Not only is it a fiting name for the man sometimes known as the Rock; it’s a hero’s name. Sure, it may only be concept art, and sure, they’ve made him look a bit more realistic (as he points out, the pecs have vanished), but if this is the tone it’s taking then we’re already on board.
Johnson is starring alongside Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Nick Jonas and Karen Gillan. Jake Kasdan is on directing duties, with the script being penned by Zach Helm, Chris McKenna, Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg and Erik Sommers.
Jumanji will be released in cinemas on 28 July 2017. For all the latest movie news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
