Following in the footsteps of Woody Harrelson and Gabriel Chavarria – not to mention returning series stalwart Andy Serkis – another recognisable name has been added to the cast of War For The Planet Of The Apes, with Dallas Buyers Club and Joy Ride star Steve Zahn being confirmed for a role.
According to Variety, Zahn will be playing an ape in the third movie in the rebooted series, which follows from the events of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and as per the title, will presumably see the humans and apes in full-on battle mode after the fire was lit at the end of Dawn. Although details are thin on the ground at present, it’s another strong casting addition alongside the heavyweight Harrelson and relative newcomer Chavarria.
The film is being directed by the returning Matt Reeves, who is also co-writing the script alongside Mark Bomback.
