Metal on the streets of London

Terminators stalk the capital city.

A series of projections took place in London last night, marking yesterday’s DVD and Blu-ray release of Terminator Salvation.

As a part of the marketing stunt, images of the iconic Terminator itself were projected onto the side of buildings, shopfronts and other areas, sometimes reaching several stories in height.

“It went well, we caused a bit of a stir on the streets,” said a publicist involved with the event. “There were crowds of people gathered around each one.” The event is reminiscent of another projection-based PR gambit earlier in the year, when Paramount projected a huge 3D Doctor Manhattan onto the waters of the Thames in support of Watchmen’s release. Terminator Salvation is out now on DVD and Blu-ray, priced at £19.99 and £24.99 respectively. The film stars Sam Worthington, Christian Bale and Moon Bloodgood among others, and is directed by McG.
