Legion has officially been given a Season 3

After a spectacular first season last year, US network FX is clearly thrilled with Legion‘s second season too. The show has officially been given the green light for Season 3.

The news was announced this week by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, FX’s presidents of original programming.

Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season,” said Schrier.

“We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honoured to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”

Legion was created by Noah Hawley and based on the Marvel Comics character created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz.

It stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, Rachel Keller as Syd Barrett, Aubrey Plaza as Lenny Busker, Bill Irwin as Cary Loudermilk, Amber Midthunder as Kerry Loudermilk, Jeremie Harris as Ptonomy Wallace, Katie Aselton as Amy Haller, Jean Smart as Melanie Bird, Navid Negahban as Amahl Farouk/Shadow King, Jemaine Clement as Oliver Bird and Hamish Linklater as Clark Debussy.
