It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the film version of Joe Kelly and JM Ken Niimura’s graphic novel I Kill Giants, but with the film currently drumming up sales at Cannes, three first-look images have been released at THR.
The pictures show Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring) as Barbara, the “misfit girl battling real and imagined monsters in her life,” and Zoe Saldana as the child psychologist trying to help her. Imogen Poots (Green Room) also stars in the film, which is directed by first time helmer Anders Walter from a script by Kelly himself.
“I Kill Giants tells the story of Barbara Thorson, an acerbic fifth-grader so consumed with fantasy that she doesn’t just tell people that she kills giants with an ancient Norse warhammer – she starts to believe it herself. The reasons for Barbara’s troubled behavior are revealed through the course of the book, as she learns to reconcile her fantasy life with the real world.”
No release date has been announced for I Kill Giants. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
