X-Men spin-off movie Gambit has been all over the place recently. Rupert Wyatt was director, then he wasn’t, then Channing Tatum seemed to drop out of the lead role, then he didn’t.
But things are once again starting to come back together. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Doug Liman will be directing the film.
Liman, whose biggest credits include The Edge Of Tomorrow, Mr And Mrs Smith and The Bourne Identity, is reportedly in final negotiations with Fox after several rounds of meetings.
He will be directing Tatum as Remy LeBeau, also known as card-throwing hero Gambit, as well as Lea Seydoux, who is rumoured to be playing Bella Donna Boudreaux.
Gambit is in UK and US cinemas on 7 October 2016. Get all the latest superhero movie news with every issue of SciFiNow.
