Harrison Ford revealed that he asked George Lucas to kill off Han Solo in either The Empire Strikes Back or Return Of The Jedi as soon as possible.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the 65 year-old actor said that, “It would make a better story. You don’t need him. He’s got no mama, got no papa – he’s out there all by himself. He’s a piece you can move around or get rid of.” However, there was a very specific reason why Lucas didn’t jump at this particular plotline. “I couldn’t get George to go along with that. He didn’t want to stop making the toys.”
Harrison Ford reprises his role of Indiana Jones in the fourth instalment of the series, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, released on 22 May 2008 in the UK.
