Ed Skrein has been cast as the villain in Disney’s upcoming sequel Maleficent 2, according to Variety. He’s currently in final negotiations for the role.
Genre fans will know that Skrein has playing creepy evil bastards down to a tee after his work as artificially mutated bad guy Ajax in Deadpool.
Nothing is known about his Maleficent character so far, but he’ll be starring opposite Angelina Jolie as the titular anti-hero and Elle Fanning, who is returning to her role of Aurora.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Ronning is helming the film. Joe Roth is producing, while Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton are penning the most recent script from a draft by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.
