Doctor Who 50th biopic casts William Russell/Ian Chesterton

Waterloo Road’s Jamie Glover to play Doctor Who’s William Russell in 50th anniversary drama

Waterloo Road star Jamie Glover is the final main cast member confirmed for Mark Gatiss’ 50th anniversary Doctor Who drama, An Adventure In Time And Space, according to Doctor Who News.

An Adventure In Time And Space will tell the story of the creation of the show in 1963, and Glover will play William Russell, who played school teacher and First Doctor companion Ian Chesterton, alongside Harry Potter’s David Bradley as William Hartnell/the Doctor.

Also in the cast are Alice In Wonderland‘s Jemma Powell as Jacqueline Hill/Barbera Wright, Claudia Grant as Carole Ann Ford/Susan Foreman, Call The Midwife‘s Jessica Raine as producer Verity Lambert, and Scotland‘s Brian Cox will be BBC Head of Drama Sydney Newman.
