Marvel have revealed two new photos and some Joe Quesada concept art for their forthcoming Netflix show Daredevil.
In case you’re keeping stock, the black Ninja-esque costume is the one that Matt Murdock dons when he first takes to the streets in Frank Miller and John Romita Jr’s 1993’s Daredevil: The Man Without Fear miniseries.
Those lovely round red-lensed beat-generation sunglasses, however, are a more recent addition to the comic-book canon, being prominently featured in the 2003 Daredevil movie and then brought into the comic soon after courtesy of artist Alex Maleev.
That said, Matt rocked round glasses without the red lenses a decade earlier, but its the colouring that really makes it pop.
As for the bruises? Well, he just wouldn’t be Matt Murdock if he wasn’t pushing himself beyond his limits out of sheer bloody-mindedness.
Forget radar sense, that’s Daredevil’s real super-power…
Daredevil will air on Netflix in 2015. You can buy Daredevil: Born Again by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli for £10.34 at Amazon.co.uk. For more on the comics that have inspired the show, pick up our 100 All-Time Greatest Comics bookazine now!
