Rumours started circulating recently that Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley is currently in talks to star in a new Tomb Raider film reboot. It turns out the rumours are true.
According to THR, Ridley confirmed that there “have been conversations” about the project while at the Empire Awards this weekend.
“I’m waiting for someone to say ‘I want you, let’s do it’,” she said.
Not much is known about the Tomb Raider reboot so far but we’re presuming it will be an updated version based on the latest game in the franchise. Ridley’s Star Wars co-star John Boyegy thinks it will be too.
He said: “I played Tomb Raider the game, it’s a new take and I think the movies are going to be based on that version. But I texted Daisy [and] was like, ‘this is you!’ and ‘you need to get on that because you could be Lara Croft.’ She should be.”
We never knew how much we needed to see Daisy Ridley’s version of Lara Croft until right now. Come on, Powers That Be, don’t let us down.
