The first trailer for Netflix’s Castlevania animated series is here ahead of the show’s October return, and it’s looking pretty damn good: monsters, sword fights and one very, very pissed off Count.
Castlevania is based on the classic videogame and comes from comics legend Warren Ellis. The formidable cast includes Richard Armitage, James Callis, Graham McTavish, Alejandra Reynoso, Tony Amendola, Matt Frewer and Emily Swallow.
For the uninitiated, “When his wife is burned at the stake after being falsely accused of witchcraft, the vampire Count Vlad Dracula Tepes declares all the people of Wallachia will pay with their lives. He summons an army of monsters and demons which overruns the country, causing the people to live lives of fear and distrust. To combat this, the disgraced monster hunter Trevor Belmont takes up arms against Dracula’s forces, aided by the magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula’s dhampir son Alucard.”
