Alien: Covenant new trailer Daniels needs MUTHUR’s help

Katherine Waterston falls back on the ship’s computer in new Alien: Covenant trailer

A slightly odd new promo for Alien: Covenant has arrived, which starts off feeling like an advert for ship’s computer MUTHUR before reminding us that it’s actually an Alien movie and that Katherine Waterston’s Daniels will not go quietly. Have a look…

The ship’s computer MUTHUR was previously introduced in Ridley Scott’s original Alien, hiding key information from Dallas and the rest of the crew. As for whether it’s ulterior motives in Covenant, well, going quiet during a poker game isn’t necessarily a sign of anything…is it?

We’ll find out on 12 May, when Alien: Covenant hits cinemas.

“Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Alien: Covenant will be released on 12 May. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
