Darren Lynn Bousman’s new horror Abattoir makes its European debut at Horror Channel FrightFest on 27 August and we have an exclusive trailer for you!

Jessica Lowndes (90210, A Deadly Adoption), Joe Anderson (Hannibal, Horns), Lin Shaye (Insidious, Ouija) and Dayton Callie (Sons Of Anarchy, Deadwood) star in the latest chiller from Bousman, in which a reporter and a detective investigate the mystery of why crime scenes are being removed from buildings where terrible murders have taken place. The answers will take them to the heart of human darkness and hell itself…
The movie is based on the graphic novel created by Bousman and written by Rob Levin & Troy Peteri with illustration by Bing Cansino. 12 Monkeys‘ Christopher Monfette takes screenplay duties on the film.
While Bousman is arguably still best known for his work on the Saw franchise, his work since then has tended to veer between movies that we can easily categorise as horror, and his more bizarre efforts like The Devil’s Carnival films and Repo. This would seem to fall into the first category, and it looks like it should be a nicely creepy and inventive horror, and it’s great to see the presence of veteran character actors like Callie and the brilliant Lin Shaye.
