The Ghoul exclusive poster for brilliant British chiller

Check out this fantastic exclusive poster for Gareth Tunley’s mind-bending The Ghoul

Gareth Tunley’s fantastic psychological chiller The Ghoul is heading to UK cinemas this August and we have the exclusive UK poster for you!

The film features an excellent cast, including Tom Meeten (AAAAAAAAH!), Alice Lowe (Sightseers, Prevenge), Dan Skinner (Prevenge, Notes On Blindness), Rufus Jones (Hunderby), Paul Kaye (Game Of Thrones), Niamh Cusack and Geoffrey McGivern, and offers the viewer a gripping, uncertain journey into a man’s crumbling psyche.

“A homicide detective goes undercover as a patient to investigate a psychotherapist he believes is linked to a strange double murder. As his therapy sessions continue the line between fantasy and reality begins to blur.”

We caught the film at the BFI London Film Festival last year and loved it, and we highly recommend catching it once it hits cinemas. In our interview with Tunley, he described it as “a suburban noir.”

“I wanted to do a thriller that was influenced by some of the things I have grown up reading over the years,” he told us. “So a mix of Philip K Dick and Alan Moore, some fantastical and science fiction-y kind of tropes but woven into a film that would seem, on the face of it, to be like a naturalistic thriller.

It’s about a character that’s extremely vulnerable and suggestible and so everybody around him, everything he sees and everything he hears is feeding into this psychotic worldview.”

THE GHOUL IS IN CINEMAS FROM AUGUST 4th, 2017.
