Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

“The first part was really a way to introduce the world to the audience, and now that this introduction has been done, the second part will be playtime!” said Villeneuve when we spoke to him in 2021 (before the second part had even been greenlit). “It’s just going to be having fun with the world and it will definitely be more cinematic and a pleasure to make.

“I think it’s going to be kind of awesome!”

The movie is directed by Villeneuve from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. It stars Timothée Chalamet (Bones And All), Zendaya (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Rebecca Ferguson (Silo), Josh Brolin (Avengers: End Game), Austin Butler (Elvis), Florence Pugh (Don’t Worry Darling), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3), Christopher Walken (Severance), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Devs), Léa Seydoux (Crimes of the Future), with Stellan Skarsgård (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Charlotte Rampling (Assassin’s Creed), and Javier Bardem (Mother!).

Dune: Part Two will be in cinemas on 1 March 2023. Watch more trailers at the SciFiNow YouTube channel.
