According to NYmag, Josh Schwartz, the creator of Gossip Girl, The OC and Chuck, is adapting E4’s superhero smash Misfits, now entering its third season, through his production company Fake Empire.
Original series creator Howard Overman is writing the series alongside Schwartz. Last year, speaking of proposed adaptations, Overman expressed doubts that it would translate to the US, “There’s been a lot of interest in it and talk about maybe doing an American version. But you just have to make sure it’s done in the right way. The idea was always to do a very British take on the superhero genre… and would that translate back to America? I don’t know.”
