Remember 2005’s Doom movie? Starring the likes of Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban, it was utterly atrocious, slated by critics but managing to perform reasonably at the box office. According to the Hollywood Insider at What’s Playing, Universal is planning to bring back the series in 3D following the success of GI Joe on the big screen. It’s reported that the studio is currently in the ‘script scouting’ stage.
Excited by the idea of another Doom movie? We’re not – adapting videogames for the big screen isn’t entirely pointless with the right director and property, but Doom’s exceptionally loose story in particular isn’t exactly ripe for a film.
