“Be strong…” yes we still have to wait two months until The Wheel of Time launches on Amazon Prime, but fear not as the first teaser trailer has been released and it’s as epic as you would expect from an adaptation of Robert Jordan’s best-selling fantasy novels.

Set in a sprawling world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, The Wheel of Time follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
Back in July for Comic-Con@Home, showrunner Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hemlock Grove) discussed how closely the TV series will mirror the book series, its characters and its global cast, especially how Rosamund Pike understood the series’ iconic main character of Moiraine. The Wheel of Time was adapted for television by executive producer/showrunner Rafe Judkins. Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of Red Eagle Entertainment, Mike Weber (Jumanji: The Next Level), Ted Field of Radar Pictures (Jumanji: The Next Level), Darren Lemke (Shazam!, Goosebumps), Marigo Kehoe and Uta Briesewitz will also serve as executive producers, with Briesewitz set to direct the first two episodes. Rosamund Pike will serve as Producer and Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson as consulting producers.
The Wheel of Time from Sony Pictures Television will premiere globally on 19 November on Amazon Prime Video.
