If you assumed that Bryan Singer was directing X-Men: Apocalypse, well, you were right.
Deadline reports that Fox has settled a deal with Singer to return to the franchise following the huge success of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which grossed $746 million worldwide.
Simon Kinberg will also return to write the script, based on a story by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris.
None of this is a huge surprise, but it’s good to hear confirmation that the Days Of Future Past team are back on board. The question now is, what are they going to do about the casting?
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released in cinemas on 27 May 2016. You can pre-order X-Men: Days Of Future Past on Blu-ray for £15 at Amazon.co.uk and read about the comics that inspired the film with the 100 All-Time Greatest Comics Bookazine.
