Speaking to Cinema Blend, Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow gave an update on his X-Force movie, saying, “I’m pretty deep into it, I have the whole story completely worked out.
“I’m about 20 pages into my draft,” Wadlow continued. “If I wasn’t promoting Kick-Ass, I would probably have a draft [already], but Kick-Ass is going to slow me down just a little.”
Asked whether he’d be using the classic incarnation of the team – based around some of the younger X-Men who’ll be making their debut in X-Men: Days Of Future Past like Sunspot and Warpath, and lead by cyborg bad-ass from the future Cable – of the more recent black-ops team that was lead by Wolverine for most of its run, the answer was somewhere in between.
“Here’s the thing, I love the current run of Uncanny X-Force. I love the classic run. Part of my take was addressing this idea that X-Force can be many different things, and that’s what got the studio excited. I think the fans will be excited, too.”
Kick-Ass 2 is due in cinemas 14 August 2013. Pick up the first film on Blu-ray for £8 or DVD for £5 from Amazon.co.uk.
