The Vampire Diaries Season 6 is upgrading Michael Malarkey, who plays the vampire Enzo, to series regular, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Enzo/Lorenzo was introduced in The Vampire Diaries Season 5 as an old friend of Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder)’s with a grudge, and it wasn’t immediately clear from the finale whether the new vamp would be sticking around.
Executive producer Julie Plec confirmed, “We have not seen the last of the delicious Michael Malarkey. He’s a wonderful addition to the team, and he will be officially a series regular next year.”
Plec teased a confrontation with Alaric (Matt Davis), saying,”I anticipate them not liking each other very much,” Plec said, adding that over time thoughts might turn to bromance.
“I sorta feel like in Season 9, if it’s Enzo and Alaric, we just spin them off into their own show. I think life would be pretty good.”
