The bad news is that Gillian Anderson, who has been gaining fans for decades as no-nonsense FBI agent Dana Scully on the show, has said that that’s pretty much it for her as far as The X-Files is concerned.
During a panel at New York Comic-Con this weekend, Anderson was asked if she would be open to continuing the series beyond Season 11. She said: “No, no, I think this will be it for me… It didn’t feel like we necessarily deliver everything the fans were expecting of us last time, and so it was that.”
When asked if she will miss playing Scully, Anderson said: “You may need to talk to me in a few years about that once I finally shut the door. You know, there’s always been this may one more thing hanging over, but when the door is finally shut call me up and ask me that question again.”
Gutted, but oh well.
