The Punisher trailer has vengeance, metal, conspiracy and headshots

Frank Castle grieves, rages, kills and listens to Metallica in the new Punisher trailer

With Metallica’s ‘One’ blasting away on the soundtrack, lots of Jon Bernthal doing furious grieving, shady government conspiracies and headshots galore, you know that it’s the full trailer for Netflix’s The Punisher series. Check it out:

There’s not much more here in terms of plot that we didn’t already know, except that Paul Schulze’s CIA bod Rawlins definitely seems to be a bad guy, orchestrating the endless goons who’ll be heading out to try and kill Frank over the course of the series only to be shot in the head. There’s also a glimpse of Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, looking conspicuously handsome enough to make us wonder if his transformation will happen this season. The other new character to figure heavily is Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Micro, who’ll be hooking Frank up with tech.

Meanwhile, Netflix is still playing coy with the release date. It’s redacted, see?

“After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld.”

The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Paul Schulze as Rawlins and Jaime Ray Newman as Sarah Lieberman. The show is created by Hannibal‘s Steve Lightfoot.

Marvel’s The Punisher will be available on Netflix in 2017. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
