The Flash has just added another comic book character for Season 4, and it’s an interesting one: Hartley Sawyer (Saving The Human Race) has officially boarded the series as Ralph Dibny, also known as Elongated Man.
For those unfamiliar with the character, his name is pretty self-explanatory; he possesses the power to stretch his body to great lengths.
In the comics, Dibny acquired the power after distilling and consuming the raw essence of gingo, a rare fruit from the Yucatán to which most people are extremely allergic, and found that the substance made him able to stretch his body at will. Dibny became the Elongated Man after moving to Central City, where he also became good friends with Barry Allen.
The character is also known for being a fast-talking private investigator, and is set to recur throughout Season 4 of The Flash.
This news comes after some other recently news that Tom Felton, who became a series regular as Barry’s CSI lab partner Julian Albert in Season 3, will not be returning for the upcoming episodes.
When we left him, Julian was still a member of Team Flash, but it looks like the character might have left by the time Season 4 comes around, what with Barry being trapped in the Speed Force and the season leaping forward six months.
