Aside from its terrible title precious little is known about Terminator: Genisys… until now.
Speaking to Coming Soon, Spider-Man‘s original J Jonah Jameson JK Simmons – who has a small role in Terminator 5 – made a surprising admission, saying, “I found the script to be really much more intelligent and fun and funny and well-rounded and heart-felt. It’s a love story.
“It’s a really interesting script,” he continued. “That was another movie that ended up being really satisfying on all levels. I have a much smaller part in that, but it was really a fun thing to be a part of.”
Obviously The Terminator franchise’s core time travel paradox – that John Conner’s sidekick is in fact his own father – is rooted in the first film’s love story between Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) and Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), but that’s the last time anything of comparable resonance has featured.
Oh, apart from the most emotional scene in sci-fi, obviously:
Thanks Terminator 2: Judgement Day, I promised I would get through at least one news story without crying.
