Superman actor Jackie Cooper dies

The star of four Superman movies died aged 88

Former child star Jackie Cooper who found renewed fame in the 70s and 80s playing Clark Kent and Lois Lane’s antagonistic Daily Planet editor Perry White died aged 88, following a “sudden bout of illness” according to TMZ.

Cooper took on the role for 1978’s Christopher Reeve-fronted Superman, and reprised the role in  1980’s Superman II, 1983’s Superman III and 1987’s Superman IV: The Quest For Peace.
