Stephen King’s Dark Tower pushed back

The ambitious mini-series is being severely scaled back

The long awaited adaption of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series by Angels & Demons producer Ron Howard has run afoul of a squeamish network.

Originally set to star No Country For Old Men‘s Javier Bardem and begin filming in Autumn, Bardem is no longer involved and there’s as yet no indicator as to when work will start as the team are being forced to look at ways to bring the budget down, including rewriting the script.

That’s not an auspicious start, is it?
