Comic-book artist Dave Hoover, best known for his work on Starman, Captain American, Marvel Comics Presents... and Wanderers in the Nineties, has died.
Despite teaching at the Digital Media faculty at the Art Institute of Philadelphia since 1999, Hoover returned to comics in 2003 with a creator owned series, contributions to the Charmed comic, and various commissions and pin-ups which you can see on his DeviantArt profile along with tributes from his fans.
Rich Johnson at Bleeding Cool put it best, saying, “He contacted me last month when he wanted to let me know he was pulling out of Rick Olney’s comic convention. Throughout everything it was clear he was only thinking of the fans. Right now his fans are only thinking of him.”
