It’s been announced that we’re getting more adventures of Mando and Grogu… but this time it will be on the big screen.

As first reported by www.starwars.com, the movie will be directed by Jon Favreau, and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, and it will be called The Mandalorian & Grogu.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” said Favreau. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen,” added Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.

The movie will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.

Speaking of which, a new sketch from Filoni has also been revealed for Ahsoka Season 2, which you can see below…

The image depicts Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice, Sabine Wren, atop one of the ancient statues seen on Peridea in Season One, with the words “The story continues” in the sky.

It looks like 2024 is shaping up to be a great year for Filoni. Next month will also see him honoured at the 2024 Saturn Awards, receiving the George Pal Memorial Award.

Named after legendary filmmaker and animator George Pal (War of the WorldsThe Time Machine) the George Pal Memorial Award is ‘presented on rare occasions to a filmmaker who embodies a sense of wonder, imagination, and mastery of the fantastic in cinematic storytelling’. Previous recipients include Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

The 51st Annual Saturn Awards will be presented live from Burbank, California on Sunday 4 February and streamed exclusively on ElectricNow.TV.

The Mandalorian & Grogu will go into production in 2024. Ahsoka Season One can be watched on Disney+ now.
