If you’re a super-fan of both Star Wars and the marvellous BBC Three/Amazon Studios comedy series Fleabag created by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, then do we have some great news for you…
According to Variety, Waller-Bridge is currently in talks for a key role in Disney-Lucasfilm’s upcoming Han Solo Star Wars anthology movie.
Fans of the actresses amazing facial expressions in Fleabag might be a little disappointed to learn that the character she’s set to play would involve a CGI-driven performance, but we’re sure she’d rock it either way. Maybe she’ll be the new Chewbacca.
The as yet untitled Han Solo film will also star Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as Han Solo and Donald Glover (Community) as Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke (Game Of Thrones) and Woody Harrelson (Zombieland) in currently unconfirmed roles.
The LEGO Movie‘s Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing, Jon Kasdan (The First Time) and Lawrence Kasdan (Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back) are writing the screenplay, and Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur are acting as producers.
The Untitled Han Solo Anthology Film will hit US cinemas on 25 May 2018. Get all the latest Star Wars news with every issue of SciFiNow.
