Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark adds Dean Norris and more

The Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark film adaptation has added some more cast members

Upcoming CBS Films and eOne horror Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark has added a handful of new cast members, according to Deadline,

Boarding the project are Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Gil Bellows (The Shawshank Redemption) and Lorraine Toussaint (Orange Is The New Black). Each actor’s character is currently being kept under wraps.

The three join a cast already made up of Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Austin Abrams, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn.

The film is being directed by André Øvredal (Troll HunterThe Autopsy Of Jane Doe). Guillermo del Toro, Sean Daniel and Jason Brown of Hivemind, J Miles Dale, and Elizabeth Grave are all producing. Mark Ross and Alex Ginno

The story is based on Alvin Schwartz’s trilogy of books of the same name. Fans of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark can likely expect the film to stay pretty true to the books, what with Schwartz co-writing the script alongside Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters: Tales Of Arcadia, The LEGO Ninjago Movie).

“Lorraine, Gil, and Dean are exceptionally talented actors who also happen to be game for all of the creepy madness that this film entails,” said Øvredal. “We are thrilled to have them aboard our macabre little train.”

The film’s synopsis is as follows:

Inspired by one of the most terrifying book series of all time, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark follows a group of teens who must solve the mystery surrounding a wave of spectacularly horrific deaths in their small town.  The five new cast members join the previously announced Zoe Colletti in the ensemble at the heart of the film.
